Our Top 11 things to do!!

There are so many things to do in Cape Town that it's hard to know where to start, so here are just a few of our favourite things to do:

Table Mountain - your visit wouldn't be complete without going to the top of our famous mountain! You can either take the revolving cable car or for those who are more adventurous, you could always walk!! From the top you have a 360 degree panoramic view of our beautiful city which is quite breathtaking.... It's amazing by day but just as lovely at dusk when the lights of the city come on and the sun sets...

Robben Island - visit the prison where Nelson Mandela was held from 1964 to 1982 during the Apartheid era. The tour is taken by former prisoners and is a window on South Africa's turbulent history.

V&A Waterfront - situated in our 'working' harbour, the Waterfront is our most visited attraction. A great place to shop, eat, drink and enjoy the 'vibe' that is Cape Town.

Boulders Beach - home to our resident population of African penguins. Get up close and personal with them as they sunbathe and swim right next to you. Be careful though - they love toes!!!!

Cage diving with great Whites!!! - for the more adventurous!! - There are several places to do this but Gaansbaai (about 3 hours from Cape Town) is best place for this. http://www.sharkcagediving.co.za/

Visit the Winelands - a must 'do'. We have eight different wine routes so you are spoilt for choice - make a day of it.

Beaches - you can't come to Cape Town and not visit some of our famous beaches.

Moyo - enjoy a traditional African lunch or dinner in the trees! You'll find this restaurant at Spier wine estate in Stellenbosch. You could also spend some time with a real Cheetah at the Cheetah outreach programme which is on the estate too! http://www.spier.co.za/

Visit a safari park - if you have a spare day, visit our BIG FIVE game reserve. http://www.aquilasafari.com/

Do something crazy - Cape Town has a healthy obsession with adventure sports. If you like the idea of paragliding off Lion's Head, abseiling off Table Mountain, quad biking on the dunes, sea kayaking, skydiving, 4x4'ing or even mountain biking check this out http://www.cape-xtreme.com/

Eat at some of our top restaurants - Cape Town is home to some of the country's top restaurants and is well known for its culinary excellence. http://www.eatout.co.za/

This is just a handful of the things we love to do. You’ll find a wealth of information on the net but, if in doubt, ask a local, they'll be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
